Biblioscopes: Advice for All Sun Signs 3/11-3/17

Biblioscopes are the union of bibliomancy, divination through opening books to random pages and pondering the meaning of the phrases therein, and horoscopes, in that each sign does share certain commonalities, including planetary transits. Each Saturday I ask the Universe to lead my hands in opening the book to the right page for a week's worth of good advice for each sun sign. My comments are in italics.

This week's featured book is: The Catholic Church Through the Ages, by John Vidmar, OP. I don't have any books about Ireland or drinking on me. This is as close as it gets. Sorry.

Aries
After Gregory VII died, it took another ten months to elect a legitmate pope. Ten months later he accepted. A year later, he died. Whatever is in the works, there must be a Pope--I mean Plan B.

Taurus
So likewise a Levite, when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side. But a Samaritan while traveling came near him; and when he saw him, he was moved with pity. 'Nuff said.

Gemini
Noe person or persons whatsoever within this province...professing to believe in Jesus Christ shall from henceforth bee any waies troubled, Molested, or discountenanced for or in respect of his or her religion. Even though you're different, you're not that different. You will have safe passage, but beware: later, they invented dictionaries, and respected the spelling of words.

Cancer
Thus the Second Crusade came to be preached, the relief of Antioch as its goal. It was a fiasco from the start. You may have to back down from your "preaching" and reorganize.

Leo
Henceforward, a new and precarious alliance would exist between the church and the state, which would last for the next 1500 years. Your touch and go relationship with this other party may last a while. You need each other. Get used to it.

Virgo
Labor unions, which preached a modified socialism, were considered by Rome to be naively sleeping with the enemy. I know it may be hard to listen to some negative comments right now, but just listen, and ask yourself if what they are saying could be true. Even if it is, you don't have to change what your doing. The knowledge itself could save you.

Libra
But more ominous was the news from the east: that Jerusalem had fallen, and that Islam was on the march.

Scorpio
Pachomius had not been a priest and deliberately kept the number of priests in each community to a minimum, so as to avoid disputes over rank. You may have to make a conscious decision or verbal agreement about who is acually in charge.

Sagittarius
The crusading spirit was difficult to sustain, and the final five crusades were ineffective. Sometimes giving up is the right thing to do.

Capricorn
The Catholic Church saved more Jewish lives during the war than all the other churches, religious institutions, and rescue organizations put together. Its record stands in startling contrast to he achievements of the International Red Cross... Old news is new again! That Red Cross's rep far outweighs its actual might. Are you the unsung hero, or overplayed pop tune? Either way, you must reinforce your position.

Aquarius
Even though Henry VII reigned for twenty-four years, the Yorkists (the losing side in the war) were always present and waiting for the opportunity to strike. Did you know they were so organized,Hank?

Pisces
Napoleon saw the need for an agreement with Rome, and began negotiations for a concordat.Short people need big friends.
