Beware the Hemadrones!

From Court TV:
"A California man facing life in prison for crashing his car into a UPS truck will not dispute that his actions resulted in the death of the driver when his trial opens Monday in Nevada County Superior Court.
"Instead, Scott Krause's defense will argue that the defendant believed he was trying to escape man-eating subterranean beings when he ran into Drew Reynolds' truck on Jan. 6, 2004.
"Krause has pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity to five felony counts, including first-degree murder, carjacking, and burglary, stemming from a string of alleged criminal activities leading up to the fatal highway crash.
"In three court-ordered evaluations, the defendant stated he was fleeing subterranean beings he called "hemadrones" when he carjacked a commercial vehicle near a Nevada City, Calif., gas station and then crashed into Reynolds' service vehicle.
"Everything had to do with his escape from the hemadrones," said Nevada County District Attorney Michael Ferguson. "According to the defendant, he was afraid they were going to put him in cargo and ship him to China to be eaten."

Read the rest here.

I've looked around the web for references to 'hemadrones' other than those originating with Krausse. Is there a literary source for these aliens? Do these critters come from a short story or a movie?

Sometimes when people take bizarre actions, or give 'imaginative' explanations, there's something in the report that offers a hint of CIA involvement.

I don't see any here, however. Some reports indicate that Krausse was on meth. Since I've never done meth, I wouldn't know if a high would conjure up flesh-eating aliens.

I would say the meth drove him into the postman. Either that, or Schizo Effective Disorder. Either way, a life sentence seems unfair, pending the evaluation of forensic psyhologists.

Sad any way you look at this.

I think the precursor to the hemadrones would be your "Deros" of the "Shaver Mystery" see here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richard_Sharpe_Shaver

Okay, Johnny, we're onto something here.

Shavers' Deros were reported by Fred Crisman. Crisman was closely connected to Michael Riconosciuto.

Riconosciuto is connected to almost everything (hence, his involvement with the Octopus conspiracy). A child prodigy cum supergenius, he grew up in a Mafia family, that had links to the Yakuza (Japanese mob), CIA, MI6, and who knows what else.

Danny Casolaro, and other people Riconosciuto worked with in the past, have a tendency to become suicide prone, their bodies showing bizarre suicide injuries (e.g. razor-slit wrists with no hesitation marks), and corpses pumped full of psychotropic drugs (for which they have no perscription).

The jury is still out as to whether Riconosciuto is a criminal mastermind manipulating the deaths of a lot of people, or a framed man so dangerous to the establishment that the forces of secret government kill off any potential aides.

Riconosciuto is currently in prison. Despite his protestations of innocence, Riconosciuto was convicted of running a meth lab.

And what was Mr. Krausse on when he smashed into the postman (who was, of course, a federal employee)?

I'd like to know more about Krausse and his meth habit and source. I'd also like to know a bit more about the decedent.

We're just gonna have to do more surfing.

Meanwhile, my initial reaction hasn't changed. I still tend to think that Krausse was a drugged-out crackpot.

But the Shavers' connection is definitely interesting to peek at.

Meth doesn't make you see stuff like that.

He's schizophrenic, and probably self-medicates with illegal drugs.

I feel bad for schizophrenics, and other insanes, because they live their lives in a lot of fear and mental anguish.

It would explain a lot if we discovered that Deros evolved into humans.

Synchronicity! I was on npr.org and found this.

Sukes, thanks for the comments.

As someone who's never used meth, I have no understanding of how the drug might affect anybody. I do wonder, however, if it can mask other hallucinatory drugs, or can cause hallucinations with other substances.

Yeah, I agree that schizo-effective disorder (SED) is the most likely explanation for Krausse's actions. But there are other explanations that haven't been ruled out yet.

For one, Krausse could just be out-and-out lying about the Deros in order to mount a diminished capacity defense.

Psychosis entails a sometimes lengthy 'pro dromo' period, during which symptoms of dementia are not apparent. But careful review of private actions (e.g., the building of a secret shrine, the writing of a journal or diary) could provide evidence of pro-dromo dementia. Post pro-dromo, he should have manifest overt symptoms of psychosis.

And we're also assuming (myself included) that there are no such things as Deros, which, of course, none of us can prove. So even though their existence is a virtual impossibility, we haven't disproven them either.

It's cool that you bring up "On the Media." I listen to every weekend. I remember the broadcast that you're linking to.
